Recent Commercial Property Deals

Ogier’s Commercial Property team regularly advise on some of the most complex and challenging commercial property matters in Jersey.

Deals include:

  • Advised Harcourt as preferred developer in relation to the £350m development of Esplanade Quarter on the St Helier Waterfront, which is the largest single commercial property site to be established in the island

  • Advised the Jersey Milk Marketing Board on the sale of its dairy premises as a site for residential development for approximately 73 houses for £12m plus overage and two year lease back arrangement together with 99 year lease of the new dairy site by JMMB from the Public of the Island.

  • Advised Sandpiper in relation to pre-lets at the new Liberty Wharf retail centre currently under development at Jersey's Waterfront including the M&S anchor tenancy as well as two additional retail stores.

  • Advised St Brelade's Bay Hotel Holdings Limited in respect of the sale of the St Brelade's Bay Hotel for £10.75m.

  • Advised New Look Retailers Limited in respect of its acquisition of a prime leasehold retail store from Woolworths (in administration).

  • Advised C I Traders on its £260m sale to Sandpiper

  • Acted for the developer of the £40m Radisson SAS Waterfront Hotel, the newest hotel on the island

  • Acted for Harcourt in the development and on letting of the £100m Liberty Wharf development incorporating a transportation centre, offices an apart hotel and a multiple retail area
     
  • Advised Sandpiper as a franchisee of Marks and Spencer in respect of its four new leases in Jersey

  • Acted for a pension fund in its £12m acquisition of an office block in La Motte Street, St Helier

  • Acted for the purchaser of two office blocks for £16m and the lease back to a major bank as part of a £600m UK deal

  • Acted for a local investor in the purchase of two office blocks for £14m

  • Acted on the sale of De Gruchy’s department store for £25.6m

  • Acted on the sale of The Grand Hotel, St Helier

  • Acted on the purchase and lease back of the Woolworths store for £6.5m

  • Acted on the purchase and sale of the Les Quennevais shopping parade

  • Acted on the sale and purchase of various residential homes in Jersey

  • Acted for various residential property developers with a combined sales value of £26m

  • Acted for The Jersey Homes Trust on its acquisition of La Coie development for £12m

  • Acted for Scottish & Newcastle Plc on the sale of the Plemont Holiday Village for £4.85m

  • Acted for Allied Irish Bank in its lease of its new flagship offices at 25/26 Esplanade, St Helier

  • Acted for Anglo Irish Bank on the setting up of a £21m facility in respect of a prestigious new commercial development in the Esplanade, St Helier

  • Acted for Nationwide Building Society in respect of a loan of £11.135m secured against a block of offices in West Centre, St Helier

  • Acted for Nationwide Building Society in respect of a loan of £8.755m secured against a block of offices in the Esplanade, St Helier
